The Silveys were born and raised on separate coasts, but both have been in the restaurant and hospitality industry from a young age. An Australian based steakhouse in its infantile stages resulted in the two meeting. The pair spent five years travelling the United States opening new restaurants and training new staff. It was during this time that they were presented an opportunity to move to Omaha and become the proprietors of two new restaurants.
After almost 20 years in the corporate restaurant industry, Scott and Kathy decided to open their own catering business with a focus on great food and attention to detail. The idea of what is now A Catered Affair was born during a family vacation with their two sons, Payne and Hunter.
Since A Catered Affair opened in 2008, Scott and Kathy have been honored to play a part in many special events. Their passion for great food and entertaining is evident in the way they approach each client, menu, and event.
Since the very beginning, A Catered Affair has been a family owned company that uses fresh ingredients and homemade recipes in order to provide clients with the best food possible. We provide catering for intimate events with only a few people, large events with up to a thousand people, and everything in between.
A Catered Affair has a vast menu with breakfast, lunch, dinner, grab & go, special occasion, and hors d’oeuvres options. We also pride ourselves in our ability to customize a menu for clients who have a certain theme in mind, family recipe requests, or various dietary restrictions. A Catered Affair caters events on all ends of the spectrum including breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, cocktail parties, weddings, baby showers, graduation parties, corporate events, private in-home parties, and aviation.
